Dean: Western Deanery

My name is Joetta Fulgenzi and I am the Dean of the Western Deanery. I have been a member of St. David’s, Caldwell for 30 years. Currently, I am the Treasurer of our Vestry of the Whole. I am also a lay leader and preacher. I have worn many hats over the years: vestry member, senior warden, treasurer, secretary, convention delegate… 

I have raised 2 daughters, 2 grandchildren and my 2 year old great grandson currently lives with me and his mom. My career spanned from teaching, private practice counselor and ended last year after 25 years as a school psychologist. I am truly enjoying this retired life.


My religious background began with a very religious grandmother that never attended a brick and mortar church. But, she attended church on TV every Sunday. From the age of 9 through high school, I attended a variety of churches from Baptist to Methodist to Catholic. I even went to the Episcopal church with a friend a few times. I married a man who was Catholic and officially converted. But that ended when I took a public pro-choice stand. That’s when a very close friend brought me to St. David’s and it was Bishop John that confirmed for me that I was in the right place.
